Helicopter joins the collection
Further to the earlier notification we are pleased to confirm that Aerospatiale Puma HC Mk 1 XW208 arrived at the museum on Wednesday 7th February 2018 from nearby RAF Cranwell, Lincs.
Although the airframe is currently incomplete it represents a valuable starting point for what is believed to be one of the first RAF examples of the type to go on display at a UK based museum.
This particular acquisition comes some seven (7) years after the museum first made an attempt to secure a Puma for its collection, back in 2011.
RAF Pumas have been regular visitors to our Southfield Site and they have always been quite popular at the museum.
