Museum Closed During the
In light of the latest Government advice and a policy briefing from DCMS; and the need to keep visitors, volunteers and staff safe; has meant that the museum trustees have taken the difficult decision to close the museum site to visitors from 4pm this evening. This closure to visitors will remain in place until further notice.
Wherever possible museum staff and volunteers will be monitoring the email accounts remotely; providing updates via this website and our various social media feeds. @NewarkAirMus We will also try to establish fresh remote contact groups to keep museum members appraised of any changes to the situation.
We are working on preparations for the other museum events such as Cockpit-Fest & the Autumn 1940s Weekend later on in the year. We will be monitoring the situation during the coming weeks to see whether or not these will proceed.
As previously advised elsewhere on the website the decision has been taken to CANCEL the planned Indoor Aeroboot Sale on 4th April 2020; sellers will be notified in due course and offered priority booking at a rearranged event in the future. The Cold War Call Up event has also now been cancelled
As a volunteer managed registered charity we rely on public admission fees, shop sales etc. to fund our operation and we will be ever reliant on the generosity of our visitors, volunteers and staff in these unprecedented and challenging times. We are currently making checks to see whether or not we qualify for government grants; exploring other funding streams and working out how we can come out of this crisis invigorated and stronger than before here at our Gateway Aviation Site in eastern Nottinghamshire.
Stay safe and healthy everyone, we will need you support in future! #NAMteamSpirit
