Vulcan Repaint Work To Start
Update 02 - 26.05.22

Please be aware that on Thursday 26th May 2022, we started erecting scaffolding at the nose and on the starboard wing of the Avro Vulcan. This is to  allow our Painting Teams to move onto the aircraft to carry out some much needed refurbishment and repainting work during the summertime.

It is anticipated that this work will take up to ten (10) weeks and on certain occasions it could limit the public access to the aircraft and its cockpit.

This work should not interrupt the external tours of XM594, which have been a regular feature of our weekend opening sessions. These are led by former Vulcan crew members and provide a fascinating insight into Vulcan operations during the Cold War.

Further details and updates will be posted here!

You can provide donations towards this project by Supporting our JUST GIVING campaign via this Web-Link

We hope hope that this important conservation work on the Vulcan will not spoil your visit to the museum.
