Aeroboot Thanks
Today’s Outdoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble seems to have been another success, with some very positive feedback; plus apparently lots of bargains were being secured in some good in person aviation trading.

Update 26.0.3.26 - this cockpit left site earlier today.
The Lightning F6 cockpit from XR757, which has been on long-term loan at the museum will soon be leaving for a new home in North East Lincolnshire. This new display location is much closer to the owner’s home in Lincolnshire.
Over recent days we have received a replenishment of Airfix kits and Corgi Collectables into stock in the Museum Shop.
We have been made aware of some online / YouTube footage that has been filmed and uploaded, in relation to our clearly stated Policy of NOT allowing drones to be operated from our privately owned site. As referenced on the FAQs page of the air museum website.
Our current policy of being a dog friendly site relies on the courtesy of visiting owners clearing up any mess left by their dogs.
We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and to extend our thanks to those of you who have visited the museum in previous years – we hope that you will continue to visit our Gateway Aviation Site in 2026 and beyond. Every museum visit counts!
Earlier today (Wednesday 3rd December 2025) the museum received the latest ‘mystery shopper’ visit by an assessor from VisitEngland (the national tourism body) to assess the museum for accreditation under the Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme [VAQAS]
We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who attended the museum’s annual Remembrance Sunday Service on Sunday 9th November at the RAF Winthorpe Memorial in our Memorial Garden, on a slightly overcast autumn afternoon.
In recent days we have received an increasing number of requests from passing visitors seeking free access to our Gateway Aviation Site to use our toilet and café facilities.
This feature on the website aims to list most of the low flying military aircraft that over fly the museum, or helicopters that visit.
