The long overdue repairs to Drove Lane have now been scheduled to take place between Monday 5th October and Friday 16th October. However, at the moment there seems to be a slight difference in the written notification that we have received and some verbal feedback that has been given to our neighbours. Below is the written advice from Via East Midlands on behalf of the Nottinghamshire County Council, dated 23.09.26.
“I am pleased to inform you that Via East Midlands, on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, will be carrying out in-situ recycling and resurfacing works on Drove Lane from the A46 Winthorpe Roundabout to the A17 Sleaford road, Coddington.
The works are scheduled to start on Monday 5th October with an anticipated duration of 2 weeks. The planned works can be affected by weather conditions, material deliveries and other unforeseen circumstances, so thus remains subject to change.
Week 1 will involve daytime deep in-situ recycling and night time resurfacing of the section from the A46 to Langford Moor Lane. It is anticipated that for Monday to Thursday access will be from the A17 end of Drove Lane up to the Newark Showground White Gate. On Friday access will be from the A46 as far as the Newark Showground Green Gate.
Week 2 will be night time working only for the resurfacing of the section between Langford Moor Lane and the A17. It is anticipated that access to Newark Showground will be from the A46 for this week.
Road markings will be applied for the whole length of works on Friday 16th October.
A road closure will be enforced to enable the works.”
The verbal advice provided seems to differ and this is due to the Antiques Event on the Showground during this time period.
5th to 7th October there will be no access to the air museum from the A46 direction.
8th to 9th October there will be overnight closures and no access from the A17 direction.
