Problems with road signs

During the summer months we have become increasingly aware of problems that some visitors are encountering while trying to follow the brown and white tourism signs to the museum.

In particular this seems to relate to one of the brown & white museum road signs on the junction of the A1 (North) exit slip road and the A46 road junction at the Brownhills roundabout, which has gone missing. This is resulting in some museum visitors getting lost.

Highways England has been notified and we hope to get the situation resolved as soon as possible; however there now seems to be a delay in getting this resolved. The best directional advice we can give is as follows:

“For people travelling from the A1 northbound, please take the left hand lane as you approach the junction and follow the A46 signs north towards Lincoln and then take the right turn off the dual carriageway at the A1133 / Drove Lane roundabout.”

Sadly it seems to be taking a long time to get a response from Highways England, so to help try and speed things up if you have encountered any problems trying to find up please send us an email by clicking on this link and we will forward on your email to support our case for the situation to be resolved.

N.B. Please do not rely on Sat Nav postcode directions to find the museum and do not follow the "Newark Attraction" signs off the main roads.
