Canberra PR7 WH791
Issued on 14.02.24

The museum trustees met yesterday (Tuesday 13th February 2024), when they were made aware of, and considered all of the requests that have been made with regards to items that are being sought from Canberra PR7 WH791.

Having considered the high level of interest, they once again reaffirmed the following point in the Statement that was made on Sunday 10th December, 2023. No disposal of the airframe or parts will happen “until the museum has recovered a limited number of useable items from the airframe, which will assist the museum’s other Canberra airframes.”

This work is now nearly complete, however to date no firm offers have been received with respect to the whole airframe.

Based on all of the information and requests that have been made, from 27 (twenty seven) different contacts in the UK and overseas; the trustees have decided to re-assess the in-house ability to remove key items like the cockpit, undercarriage parts etc. in a safe and cost-effective manner.

These assessments will take place in the coming weeks, and only after that work has been completed will we endeavour to meet the various request for parts that have been submitted and recorded.
